ऑनलाइन हिन्दी साहित्य
इंटरनेट एक ऐसा स्थान है, जहां किसी भी विषय से सम्बंधित विस्तृत जानकारी प्राप्त की जा सकती है। हांलाकि हिन्दी दुनिया की सबसे ज्यादा बोली जाने वाली तीसरी भाषा है, लेकिन फिर भी इस भाषा में इंटरनेट पर बहुत कम सूचनाएं उपलब्ध हैं। हिन्दी को इंटरनेट पर बढ़ावा देने के कई प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं। यदि आप मेरा अंग्रेज़ी ब्लॉग नियमित रूप से पढ़ते हैं, तो आपको पता होगा कि मैंने यह नया हिन्दी ब्लॉग बनाया है।
लेकिन ऐसा भी नहीं है कि हिन्दी में कुछ उपलब्ध ही न हो। हां,यह ज़रूर है कि उसे खोजना काफी कठिन है। वेबसर्फिंग के दौरान मुझे एक बहुत ही उपयोबी और रुचिकर वेब साइट मिली जहां पर अनेक पुस्तकें बहुतायात में डाउनलोड के लिए उपलब्ध हैं। यह वेबसाइट भारतसरकार के सूचना प्रौद्यौगिकी विभाग नें बनाई है। आप यहां पर अपने कुछ पसंदीदा लेखकों जैसे प्रेमचन्द, शिवानन्द एवं यशपाल जी को वहां पाएंगे।

कृपया ध्यान दें कि मुझे डाउनलोड की हुई फाइलों को माइक्रोसॉफट वर्ड 2000 में कुछ समस्याएं आ रही थीं और अन्त में मुझे वर्डपैड का सहारा लेना पड़ा।

I installed the Arial Unicode MS font and it started displaying in Word. However it is not as sharp as it was in Wordpad. Somehow Wordpad displays it much better.
Fonts provided with Office 2000
Many of the TrueType fonts provided with Office support a wide variety of languages that use different writing systems, such as Greek or Russian, rather than just the languages of Western Europe; a few fonts for Asian languages are provided as well. The font Arial Unicode MS provided with Office is a full Unicode font, containing all of the approximately 40,000 alphabetical characters, ideographic characters, and symbols defined in the Unicode 2.1 standard. Because of its considerable size and the typographic compromises required to make such a font, Arial Unicode MS should be used only when you can't use multiple fonts tuned for different writing systems. For example, if you have multilingual data in Microsoft Access from many different writing systems, you can use Arial Unicode MS as the font to display the data tables with, because these can't accept many different fonts. If you didn't install the Arial Unicode MS font when you installed Office 2000 or your Office program, just reinstall Office and choose Add or Remove Features. Click the plus sign (+) next to Office Tools, click the plus sign next to International Support, click the icon next to Universal Font, and then choose the installation option you want.
